01

Start with the actual deadline

Inventory replenishment, samples or part of a shipment needed urgently may be suitable for air freight. Suitability also depends on dimensions, cargo characteristics, acceptance conditions and the operating capacity of each route.

SEALLOGS discusses feasible schedules and the steps before and after the flight. Flight time is only part of delivery time; collection, airport handling, formalities and final delivery must also be considered.

02

Coordinate cargo preparation and flight arrangements

Cargo information must be provided before an option is confirmed. Batteries, liquids, chemicals and goods with special acceptance conditions must be clearly declared so applicable requirements can be checked.

  • Check proposed routes and flight schedules for the shipping date.
  • Coordinate airport handling and connecting road transport.
  • Assist with documentation information within the agreed scope.
03

Both weight and dimensions matter

Charges may be based on actual weight or volumetric weight, depending on the rules applicable to the route and carrier. Providing only the total number of kilograms is therefore not enough for an accurate quotation.

Measure packages after packing. Oversized, non-stackable or specially handled packages should be discussed early; do not assume every package can be accepted on every flight.

04

Information to prepare

A complete request reduces follow-up questions and helps clarify which delivery schedule may be achievable.

  • Cargo description and use, number of packages, dimensions and weight of each package.
  • Packaging photos, battery or liquid details, and any care requirements.
  • Origin, destination, cargo-ready date and preferred delivery deadline.
  • Shipper and consignee details and available commercial documents.
05

Confirm the scope of collection and delivery

A quotation should distinguish flight charges from handling, collection, delivery, formalities and other services. Estimated schedules depend on cargo acceptance, flight capacity and documentation. If requirements change, the parties should reconfirm the plan before proceeding.
